Day of Play Game Procedures

WEDNESDAY MIXER PROCEDURE

Wednesday’s play is normally an individual game and the following procedure will be instituted to insure that all members have an opportunity to play on Wednesday’s. Seven days before the Wednesday date of play an email invitation will be sent via Golf Genius to the Men’s Club members describing the game and reminding them that they must sign up by noon on the Monday before the Wednesday day of play. Because it is an individual game members can send a note to the manager after answering “playing” indicating members they would like to include in their foursome, but all of the members of that foursome will have needed to answer playing to their invitation. The scoring committee will endeavor to honor the requests. The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that new members or members that seldom play can easily gain a T time to mix with other members of the men’s club for Wednesday play.
Here is a description of the process;

  • Seven days before the scheduled Wednesday day of play, the scoring committee will send an invitation to all men’s club members asking “playing” or “not playing”?
  • If a member wants to be included in the game they must select “playing”.
  • There will be a short wait list for members who sign up late but to guarantee a place in the game please try and sign up before Monday noon.
  • When signing up to play a pop up allows the member to send a message to the manager and they can indicate the members they would like to have included in their foursome. (All members of the foursome will need to have answered their invitation “playing”)
  • On Tuesday afternoon before the day of play the scoring committee will set the pairings and send the T sheet to all those wanting to play in the Wednesday game.
    • Score cards will be generated and emailed to Lindy Anderson to be printed the morning of play
  • On Wednesday afternoon of the day of play the scoring committee will enter scores and publish results to the bulletin board and to the men’s club web site.

SATURDAY MIXER PROCEDURE

Seven days before the Saturday date of play we will send an email invitation via Golf Genius to the Men’s Club members describing the game and reminding them that they must sign up by noon on the Thursday before Saturday day of play to be included in the Men’s Club $5.00 game. A member can choose to not to be in the Men’s Club game by selecting “not playing” or by ignoring the invitation. Members can still make their own T time, but they will not be included in the $5.00 game nor will their T time be in the block reserved for the Men’s Club. The purpose of this change is twofold; 1) to insure that new members or members that seldom play can easily gain a T time to mix with the membership that are willing to mix, and 2) to increase the fairness of team competitions.
Here is a description of the inclusive mixing process;

  • Seven days before the scheduled Saturday day of play, the scoring committee will send an invitation to all Men’s Club members asking “playing” or “not playing”? The game being played will be described in the email.
  • If a member wants to be included in the game they must select “playing” before Thursday noon before the Saturday day of play.
  • There will be a short wait list for members who sign up late but to guarantee a place in the game please try and sign up before Thursday noon.
  • The round roster for Saturday play will already be populated in Golf Genius with those members that have answered the invitation with “playing”
  • On Friday the scoring committee will complete the following tasks;
    • Automatically Pair the members in the round roster using ABCD format
    • Generate a T sheet that will be sent to all members that have confirmed “playing” and a copy of the T sheet will be sent to the pro shop.
    • Generate Score cards and email the cards to Lindy Anderson to be printed the morning of play
    • Saturday scoring and posting remain the same.

If a member fails to sign up by Thursday noon, or is not selected from the short wait list they can phone the pro-shop to make their own T time, but because the Saturday game is most often a team game they will not be included in the $5.00 member game nor will their T time be in the block reserved for the Men’s Club.
